CCTV & AI Surveillance

All cctv & ai surveillance details →

Do you provide CCTV installation in Muscat and across Oman?

Yes. USTS is based in Muttrah, Muscat and supplies and installs CCTV systems for homes and businesses in Muscat and elsewhere in Oman. Contact us with your location and requirement and we will arrange a site survey.

How much does CCTV installation in Muscat cost?

A quotation depends on the number and type of cameras, cable routes, mounting access, recording capacity and remote-viewing requirements. Share your site location, drawings or photos and the areas you need to cover so USTS can confirm the scope before quoting.

What should I ask a CCTV installer in Muscat?

Ask for a camera plan, the intended recording period, day and night image checks, itemised equipment and installation costs, and written handover and support terms. Confirm who controls administrator credentials and how additional users will access the system.

Access Control & Biometric Systems

All access control & biometric systems details →

What happens to the doors in a power failure?

Each lock is specified as fail-safe (unlocks without power) or fail-secure (stays locked). Escape routes must follow fire-safety requirements, and backup power is sized for the controllers and locks.

Can attendance data go into payroll?

Most attendance software exports reports. The format your payroll system accepts is confirmed during design.

Card or biometric?

Cards are fast and cheap to replace. Biometrics stop credential sharing. Many sites use cards on general doors and biometrics on sensitive rooms or for attendance.

EAS & RFID Retail Security

All eas & rfid retail security details →

What is the difference between AM and RF EAS?

AM (58 kHz) systems generally detect across wider aisles and are less affected by metal and foil packaging. RF (8.2 MHz) labels are typically lower cost. Tags and antennas must use the same technology.

Can EAS and RFID share one antenna?

Some antenna models combine AM EAS with UHF RFID in one pedestal. Whether that suits your store depends on the entrance and the software you plan to use.

Why do labels sometimes alarm after purchase?

Usually because the label was not deactivated, or was deactivated outside the pad’s range. Deactivator placement and staff routine fix most cases.

Networking & Wi-Fi

All networking & wi-fi details →

How many access points do I need?

It depends on floor area, wall materials, number of users and ceiling height. A survey or floor-plan design gives a defensible number rather than a guess.

Why separate the network into VLANs?

VLANs keep guest devices, cameras and office computers apart, so a problem or compromise in one segment does not reach the others.

Can you work with our existing equipment?

Often, yes. The assessment identifies what can be reused and what limits performance.

IP Telephony and PBX Systems

All ip telephony and pbx systems details →

What is an IP PBX?

It is the office phone system. It connects extensions to each other and to outside lines, and provides features such as call transfer, voicemail, ring groups and an automatic menu for callers.

Do IP phones need special cabling?

They use the normal network cabling, and most can be powered by a PoE switch, which avoids a separate power adapter for each phone.

Can staff take calls on their mobile phones?

Many systems support an app or forwarding so extensions can ring on a mobile. We check what your chosen system supports before quoting.

Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure

All structured cabling and network infrastructure details →

What is structured cabling?

It is a planned system of copper and fibre cabling, outlets, patch panels and racks that connects your network equipment, computers, cameras, access points and phones.

What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?

Both carry gigabit speeds. Cat6A is built for 10 gigabit over the full 90 metre run and handles interference better, so it is often chosen for new work that must last.

When do I need fibre?

Fibre is used for long runs, between buildings or floors, and where very high speeds are needed. Copper is normally used for the final run to each desk or device.

Gate Automation

All gate automation details →

Sliding or swing gate motor?

That depends on the gate you have. Sliding gates use a rack-driven motor. Swing gates use arm or underground motors per leaf. Weight and daily usage decide the motor rating.

Can the gate open from my phone or an access card?

Yes, with a compatible receiver, Wi-Fi module or access-control reader connected to the gate controller.

What if the power goes off?

Most motors have a manual release. Battery backup can be added so the gate keeps working for a number of cycles.

IPTV & TV Systems

All iptv & tv systems details →

What is the difference between SMATV, MATV and IPTV?

MATV distributes terrestrial channels over coax. SMATV adds satellite channels to the same coax system. IPTV sends channels as data over the IP network, which allows menus and hotel-style interfaces.

Can existing coaxial cabling be reused?

Often, if the cable and passive components are in good condition. Signal testing during the survey confirms it.

Home Automation

All home automation details →

KNX or wireless smart switches?

KNX is a wired standard suited to new builds and full renovations and does not depend on Wi-Fi. Wireless smart switches suit retrofits where rewiring is not practical.

Does automation work without internet?

Local control usually keeps working. Remote app access and cloud features need internet. This varies by platform.

Custom Software Development

All custom software development details →

Do you only build HRM and ERP systems?

No. HRM and ERP are just the two examples we show on this page because they come up often. What we actually do is build software for whatever your business needs: a booking system, a delivery tracker, a system specific to your industry, anything. If you can describe the problem, even in plain, non-technical language, we can tell you whether custom software is the right fix and roughly what it would take.

Should we build custom software or buy an off-the-shelf product?

Off-the-shelf software works fine for standard processes like accounting or email. Custom software earns its cost when your workflow is what sets you apart, when nothing on the market fits without constant workarounds, or when several systems need to actually talk to each other. We weigh both routes at the discovery stage and will tell you plainly if a ready-made product is the better fit.

Do you build or integrate HRM and ERP systems?

Both. We build HRM modules, employee records, leave, attendance, appraisals, sized to how many people you have, and we implement, customise or integrate ERP systems for finance, inventory and procurement, including linking an ERP to a website, POS or HRM system you already run.

HRM and Payroll Software

All hrm and payroll software details →

Does the system produce a WPS file?

It exports a salary file with the standard WPS fields. It has not been certified against a bank format, so we check the layout with your bank during setup.

Does it calculate end-of-service gratuity?

It gives an estimate using the Labour Law formula of 15 days per year for the first three years and 30 days after that. Contract terms and the Social Protection Law can change the final amount, so treat it as an estimate to verify.

Can it connect to our fingerprint or face devices?

It accepts attendance punches from devices that can push to a web address, such as ZKTeco/BioTime and Hikvision terminals. We confirm your device model before quoting.

CRM and Sales Software

All crm and sales software details →

What does a CRM do?

It keeps every lead and customer conversation in one system with an owner, a status and a next action, so nothing depends on one person's memory.

Can leads from WhatsApp be tracked?

Yes. We have built a shared WhatsApp and Instagram inbox that turns messages into leads and assigns them to salespeople. The screens are shown on this page.

Can we manage AMC contracts?

Yes. Contracts, service visits and renewal dates are tracked next to the customer record.

ERP, Billing and Inventory Software

All erp, billing and inventory software details →

What does the software run on?

It is a Windows desktop application. Tell us how many computers and branches you have and we will advise on setup.

Which countries and tax systems does it support?

The tax setup is built around a country configuration. The version in use today is set up for India GST, and it can read data exported from Tally. Other countries are added as a configuration and an agreed project, so tell us your country and tax rules and we will confirm what is ready today. We work with customers remotely, with online demos.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of computers and branches, whether you need data imported from existing software and any changes to the setup. After a short call we give a clear quote. Quotations are free.

RFID Inventory Software

All rfid inventory software details →

What is RFID inventory software?

It is software that records the movement of tagged items between locations, using reads from RFID readers, so you can see where each item is without counting it by hand.

Do you supply the readers and printers too?

Yes. We supply and install RFID readers, antennas and printers, and the software is set up to work with them. Ask us about your hardware.

Can we start with a pilot?

Yes, and we recommend it. Start with one product group and one location, measure the read accuracy, then extend. Our RFID planning guide explains how.

Website Development

All website development details →

How much does a website cost in Oman?

The price depends on page count, features such as e-commerce or booking, how much content and design work is needed, and any integrations. We give a fixed quote after a short discovery call rather than a generic price list.

How long does a website take?

That depends on page count, content readiness and integrations. A timeline is agreed after discovery, and content delivered late is the most common cause of delay.

Is SEO included?

Technical SEO foundations (metadata, sitemaps, structured data, redirects and performance) are part of the build. Ongoing content and SEO work is scoped separately.

Mobile App Development

All mobile app development details →

Do I need an app or is a website enough?

A responsive website or progressive web app is often enough for information and simple ordering. An app earns its cost when you need push notifications, offline use, camera or location features, or repeat daily use.

Do you build for both iOS and Android?

Yes. A cross-platform build usually covers both from one codebase; native builds are recommended only where a feature requires them.

How long does it take to build an app?

It depends on features and integrations. We agree a phased plan after discovery so a first version can be tested with real users early.

AI Automation Services

All ai automation services details →

What is AI automation, in plain terms?

It is software that does routine office tasks for you, such as replying to common questions, sorting messages or filling in forms, and uses AI where a task needs some judgement, like reading an email. Your team keeps control and handles the exceptions.

What is MCP, and do you build MCP servers?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to your business tools and data in a controlled way. We build MCP servers for your CRM, ERP, database or internal system, so staff can ask an assistant a question or request an action in plain language. You decide which actions it may take, and sensitive ones can wait for a person to approve them.

Do we need to replace our current systems?

No. The automation is built around what you already use and connects to it, so your team keeps working in familiar tools.

Cloud Migration Services

All cloud migration services details →

What does cloud migration involve?

Assessing your current systems, choosing what to move and how, migrating servers, applications and data in a planned order, testing each one, and switching users over with a rollback plan ready.

How long does a cloud migration take?

It depends on the number of servers, the amount of data and how tightly your applications depend on each other. A plan with dates and downtime windows is agreed after the assessment.

Will there be downtime during the move?

Usually a short window at cutover, planned outside working hours. Where the workload allows it, systems are synchronised beforehand so the switch is brief.
